Classic Sweet and Sour Pork

                   Cooking Method: Deep-frying & Stir-frying

 

Ingredients

•• 250g Pork fillet, cut into bite-size pieces

•• ½ Red pepper, diced

•• 2 Rings canned pineapple, chopped

•• Vegetable oil for deep frying, batter and stir frying

sauce

•• 4Tbsp Lee Kum Kee Sweet and Sour Sauce

batter mix

•• 40g Self raising flour

•• 1tsp Cornflour

•• 60ml Cold water

•• 2tsp Vegetable oil

 

Method

  1. Whisk together the batter mix until smooth and set aside for 15 mins before
    adding the vegetable oil.
  2. Dip the pork in batter before deep frying in hot oil until the batter is golden and crisp.
    Drain and set aside.
  3. Stir fry the pepper and pineapple for 2 mins. Add Sweet and Sour Sauce,
    pineapple juice and cooked pork until heated through. Serve immediately.

tips

•• Using pork shoulder is a cost-effective choice! Pork shoulder can provide more texture too!
